Dannick G. Villaseñor-Hernandez is a native of Weslaco, Texas. Her parents taught her the importance of an education. Dannick's mother helped her parents financially by working full-time and as a seasonal migrant field worker. She attended college at night until she received her bachelor’s in education and dedicated over 28 years as a public school teacher. Her father received his bachelor’s in agricultural science and has worked as a farmer and rancher all his life. As the oldest of three daughters, Dannick grew up knowing she had a responsibility to set a positive example for her sisters. After graduating from Weslaco High School in 2005 as class Valedictorian, Dannick left home to pursue an education.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Government with a minor in Spanish from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating summa cum laude with the highest honors. She moved to San Antonio to attend St. Mary’s University School of Law where she graduated in the top 12% of her class in May 2011. While attending St. Mary’s University School of Law, Dannick worked as a Student Attorney providing legal services to low-income communities in San Antonio and along the border.
Growing connected to this city, she and her husband, Elias, made San Antonio their home where they have raised their two children and two Beagles. She began working as an Associate Attorney at Plunkett & Gibson where she handled a wide variety of civil litigation, including insurance defense, medical malpractice, family law, bankruptcy, and commercial litigation. In 2015, after only four years at the firm, she was made the youngest Partner in the firm's 40+ year history. As a Partner, she managed a large docket of trucking and commercial vehicle accident cases across the state of Texas. She presented cases at trial as well as written appeals and oral argument before the Fourth Court of Appeals.
Dannick has spent the last three and half years working at Espinoza and Brock where her practice focuses on non-subscriber and third-party work injury cases. She handles cases in arbitration, state court, and federal court.
Since 2016, Dannick has served as the Regional Coordinator for the Texas High School Mock Trial Competition, in which she is responsible for organizing and hosting the annual competition at the Bexar County Courthouse. She is a graduate of the 2017 Bexar County Women’s Bar Foundation LEAD Academy, and has served on its Steering Committee the last four years. Dannick also currently serves on the Board of Directors for San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association.
Today, most of her clients are individuals who were injured as a result of a work accident or motor vehicle accident. Representing injured clients has shown her the importance of an efficient judicial system. Now, understanding why efficient and effective justice is so important, Dannick is ready to be your judge of the 73rd Civil District Court.
